Financial Consultant
General Summary/Objective:
Assess and fulfill customer’s investment and financial needs and/or planning requirements. Responsible for the sale and distribution of investment and insurance products and services. Responsible for assisting in developing, implementing and achieving the bank’s wealth management business plan.

- Must have excellent communication verbal written and telephone skills.
- Accepts and conforms to the terms of the employment agreement(s) executed between the employee and the bank including a mutual employment agreement executed between the employee, the bank, and the securities brokerage services and insurance services companies.
- Identifies and solicits business from potential clients through advertising campaigns, mailing lists, referrals and personal contacts.
- Meet with clients to determine financial and insurance needs, complete formal financial plans as appropriate, recommend investment/insurance strategies and presents appropriate investment/insurance options.
- Responsible for maintaining on-going knowledge of current market conditions, new products, services and tax law changes within the financial services industry.
- Maintains a full working knowledge of various software packages to produce financial planning information for clients.
- Schedules and conducts customer seminars such as financial planning, estate planning, retirement planning and education planning.
- Responsible for ensuring that the office, marketing materials, client files, seminar materials and new accounts are compliant with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and requirements of First Scotia Wealth Management in the conduct of assigned responsibilities.
- Conducts the training of Bank personnel to enhance the success of the Bank’s investment referral process.
- Works with senior management to develop, implement and achieve/exceed goals as set forth in the bank’s annual business plan.
- Represents the bank by participating in community affairs, clubs and organizations to assess the needs of the community, enhance the bank’s visibility and increase new business opportunities.
- Track record of successful sales/service performance in the investment services business.
- Extensive knowledge of investment and insurance products and services and their application and appropriateness to individual customer needs and goals.
- Ability to motivate people and communicate effectively through excellent interpersonal skills
- Maintain active Series 7,24,63, 65 & 66 and Life and Health Insurance Licenses
- This is a full-time position performed in a regular office work environment and will routinely use standard office equipment. Travel is required.
