About Us

Saratoga Springs is home to the oldest thoroughbred race course in America.

The race course has earned the nickname “The Graveyard of Champions” after horses like Man o’War, Gallant Fox, and Secretariat were beat by “The Dark Horse”; the no name, and unlikely champion. Gallant Fox lost to Jim Dandy, who had 100-1 odds, Secretariat lost to a horse named Onion in the Whitney Stakes after winning the Triple Crown. The most well-known Dark Horses is Upset, the only horse to beat Man o’War. Winning 20 of his 21 races Man o’War lost to Upset at Saratoga in the 1919 Sanford Stakes.

In Saratoga the smart bet is always “The Dark Horse”.

Our store celebrates this tradition with a carefully curated selection of garments, gifts, collectibles, and decor. We also have a children's book series and a miniature horse, Upset, who visits the store on a regular basis!
