Deborah Neary will give a presentation and talk about her ongoing Woman in Nature photo project.
We live in a world of computers, cell phones and virtual realities. This leaves us with a feeling of being ungrounded.
There is a need for us to spend more time with Nature, actually stand in the water, lay down in the wild grass, and feel the earth beneath our bare feet. To Ground ourselves.
“Woman in Nature” is about reconnecting with our true selves through the creative process. Learning to love ourselves just as we are right at this moment, within the beauty of our landscapes.
The camera has a way of capturing a fleeting moment, making a seemingly ordinary moment in time extraordinary and somewhat magical. Working with natural elements in safety and affirmation, we purposefully abandon cultural and societal constraints that limit expression and acceptance. The result is powerful, primordial, and magnificent. Women find the experience deeply moving and transformative. The effect is a startling divine revelation of self-love and Mother Earth love!
