Nutrition Resource Educator – Ballston Spa, NY
 

 
The Nutrition Resource Educator collaborates with multiple partner organizations, funders, and Cornell University program work teams to assess, develop, deliver, and evaluate both existing and new programs.  This position solicits grants and manages funder requirements, serves on advisory boards, and works independently and with limited supervision influencing programs for the Association and its constituents.
 
Programs responsibilities include but are not limited to topics around community nutrition, obesity and chronic disease prevention, food and nutrition gaps and trends, food preservation, and Hudson River fish advisory outreach.
 
Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience relevant to the role of position.
  • Ability to meet the regular travel requirements associated with this position. A valid NYS driver's license with the ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
  • Ability to assess, develop, deliver, and evaluate programs.
  • Ability to identify and secure funding and grants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn Microsoft Office suite and program-based software.

This position frequently lifts, moves, or transports program-related materials and equipment. The position regularly shops for program materials and food. This position frequently demonstrates meal preparation, recipes, and cooking skills/techniques.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or coursework in nutrition
  • Master Food Preserver Trainer Certification
  • Membership with the National Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences
 
Position Details
 
This is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation paid in the range of $62,000 - $65,000 annually. Excellent benefits, based on eligibility, including:
