Posted: 05/28/2024

The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs is seeking an hourly Strings Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching stringed instruments. Certification in Waldorf teaching is preferred but not required. The responsibilities would include teaching two classes weekly to Grades 3rd through 5th, and ensemble to Grades 6th-8th.

The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs was founded in 1981 and currently serves 135 children from preschool through Grade 8. We are full members of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and are accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools. Our eclectic downtown campus is spread over three historic buildings, two of which are within walking distance of each other in the city of Saratoga Springs, NY.

Our Early Childhood Center houses a preschool class and a mixed-age . Our Forest Kindergarten, located on state park land two miles outside of town, also houses a preschool class and mixed-age kindergartens. The Lower School serves Grades 1 through 8 and offers a richness of experience in both its class teachers and special subjects (eurythmy, handwork, language, music, and practical arts).

Saratoga Springs is a charming Victorian resort town nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks with a population of approximately 30,000. We are three hours from Boston, New York City and Montreal. Our location offers four delightful seasons, proximity to both wilderness and major cities, and at the same time a comfortable small-town feeling. Because of our popularity as a summer-time destination, Saratoga Springs offers many world class cultural events, such as hosting both the New York City Ballet and the Philadelphia Orchestra. We have a thriving music and theater life, restaurants, shops and community events.
